My girlfriends want to go camping and get on to a rave in May but I've not been since I was 13. Is it cool to go camping now and why ?

Almost everyone I know camps - there is something about getting back to basics that is nice.
I say don't worry about being cool. Focus on being you, and if you think you'd enjoy it - go for it!

Camping is cheap and most camp sites are poorly controlled. Makes sense they'd move raves into camping areas and trash them.
I hope I'm not at the same camp site.

We sort of go camping since we bought a camper van (old VW) last year for us and the kids. The people we meet are mostly younger parents or couples with a few old farts thrown in. But it's fun and you can go where you want really cheaply.
Go wherever the wind takes you.

Yes. Camping is great fun, being a student it also has the benefit for me of being a very cost effective group trip!!

camping is great
but raves are about getting drunk and high
i think if you are going to a rave get a cabin
or cheap room, for your own safety

Most people I know who go camping don't care about whether it is cool or not.

I don't think I ever went camping...but it looks like it would be an experience to treasure ---to get away from tv, radio, etc, ; to take time to smell the roses so to speak...

It`s cool if you don`t have a sleeping bag, in fact it`s fu*king freezing.
