Every year he says that he wants to stay in Boston. Its just what athletics do so the media will get off their back about trade rumors and things like that. As for Manny he could easily say that he wants to end his career with the Sox because most likely he wont be the one initiating a trade..the Sox will be trading him. So its a easy way to make himself look like the good guy even when he does get traded

He'll never stop being Manny. Goofy fielding, surreal base running, silence around reporters, but also .300 plus batting avg, 35+ home runs, a couple of more grand slams, 125+ RBI. I love him with the Red Sox.
