Wait until about 9:00pm, when he/she comes out, block the entrance so it won't be able to get back in. Skunks don't like dog pooh. They go around it and will avoid areas which are high in traffic with dogs. Get some dog pooh and toss it under the steps, the skunk won't stay for long or return.

Best thing you can do is to call animal control. Skunks can get very nasty, and you don't want to run the risk of getting sprayed or scratched trying to get him out yourself. A single bite or scratch on you or a pet could result in serious infection, not to mention the horrible smell from a spray. Just call your local animal control and they will take care of it for you. If you live in a more rural area, then call the county and they can send someone out. GOOD lUCK!

It depends on where you live. I don't think your local animal control will come out for a wild animal. Your choices may be limited. If you live in town you will either have to hire a professional trapper or buy a trap and set it yourself. If you live in the country you could flush it out and shoot it with a shotgun. If you own dogs, don't let them get anywhere near it..my collie got mixed up with one and it took forever to get the smell out. Hope this helps you.

I had a friend with the same problem. She threw a couple bars of Irish spring soap under the porch & it left. Guess they don't like the smell. Good luck.

Well if you have an Animal Control department in your town, they often handle these. Otherwise buy some Moth Balls and toss them under the porch.

dont know if this will work with skunks but it works with mice, try throwing moth balls under there.
