Unsolved events could be crimes that have not been solved or lets say, crimes that still have questions unanswered. You could therefore do a research paper on the likes of 'the Lindburgh baby kidnapping" or you could investigate the conspiracy theory involving JFK assissination.
Then again, you could investigate some of the mysterious disappearances with in the Bermuda triangle. I wish you all the best. Good Luck.
