Don't fill up on empty foods. Whole grains, small snacks(apples String cheese, Triscuits, Veggies.) Lots of REAL food snacks, They keep the hunger gone longer and right now these WHOLE foods and Raw veggies are Exactly what your baby needs right now. I'm 6 weeks as well and I'm starving. I'm eating a PB and Honey sandwich on Whole grain bread and I probably won't need to eat again until about 10:15 in a few hours. I'll have a salad. That's been working so far. Good luck

I had the exact problem and you know what i did i ate! This is the one time you can eat as much as you want without feeling bad, if you want to really stop being hungry go to a buffet that should fill you for about to hours. I gained 15 pounds by my second month. Every women is different some eat a lot some don't just try to eat fruits and veggies they are the one thing you can splurge on all day and be the best food for you and your baby. I would eat about two to three big bowls of fruit in a five or six hour period so please just don't starve yourself YOU ARE PREGNANT EAT EAT EAT!!!!!!!!!!

i was really hungry the first month or two when i got pregnant. Now that i'm 21 weeks i'm back to normal and have been for about 2 months. Be careful not to gain too much weight. It's not good at all. you can have problems later in the pregnancy. Drink lots and lots of water. That will help keep a good weight. I'm 5 months and gained 20 lbs already. And it's not good.

I was like that too. I wouldn't worry about eating so much because you might be getting really sick soon-so I would enjoy eating now if I were you. I know that I was really hungry at first and then I got super sick for three months. Didn't want to eat a thing! Just eat good healthy stuff-no harm in that. Snacking is good for you throughout the day! Yay!

Its just a mental thing. You know that your pregnant and that gives you the right to eat whatever whenever. And also knowing that you have to eat for you and your baby. Now is the most important time to eat healthy because your baby is developing. Eat up, but eat smart. You have the right, so don't feel guilty because you are doing a very special thing by caring a child. And Congrats!!!

Everyone is different. Most women experience a decrease in appetite during their 1st trimester. However, I'd be careful about what you're eating/drinking since this might lead to some unappealing weight gain. Try to snack on healthy things, like fruits and veggies, and avoid junk food. I find that foods high in fiber, like certain cereals, keep me fuller longer. Also remember to drink plenty of water! Basically, eat all you want but try to be smart about it.

Very normal, in fact, at six weeks I was waking up at 2am starving to death and searching, for something, anything to eat. It actually got a little better as things progressed. But I hear it comes back with a vengence in the third trimester

Eat smaller meals more frequently. Instead of having 3 bigger meals a day, eat a smaller breakfast with a snack between breakfast and lunch, then a small lunch, and a snack between lunch and dinner, and then eat dinner. That seemed to help me, and it's healthy for you too... also a good idea if you get morning sickness!
(I've always eaten like that, even when I wasn't pregnant... )

Sometimes the mind if funny. Because you think you are pregnant you can think you are Hungary all the time. Doctors say you usually don't have an increase in appetite until the third month.
