So if that is the fo)mula, does the Rockies not fit? Young hitting (Holiday, Adkins, Hawpe), healthy startng pitching (only team to use the same 5 starting pictures until September call ups, now they are deeper!) and bullpin (Fuentes is sick! with young guns in front of him in Rameriz and Corpas.) Not to mention leadership with Helton, Lopez, and Carrol. So what is stopping them?

I hear Helton might be leaving, plus he is way past his prime...

I think the key ingredients to a ballclub are:
chemistry (think jose reyes and david wright dancing in the dugout)
leadership
good management and a front office that makes the necessary moves down the stretch
an offense that can play small ball when it has to
a decent bench (good fundamentals, at least one power hitter)
consistent rotation and fearless bullpen
an offense with no holes and no one to pitch around
unfortunately, fielding is overrated in today's steroid-crazy game

all in all...just analyze the Mets...they're close to perfection

Pitching, hitting ,and defense are your keys to success. Part of pitching is the not just your starting rotation but your bullpen as well.
