How do I stand around waiting on the pavement trying to look cool and thinking where the ?*$#! my mum is?

Right.... this is is the story........ I start waiting on the pavement, i have no phone and I'm trying to look cool and not distressed.....WHAT DO I DO???

I really dont know,when I was quite young I did a similar thing. I had`nt been married long and was waiting for my wife to come out of work,looking in shop windows etc and I was pulled in by the police and searched. They said I was behaving suspiciously.
So be careful out there,as they say

A CD player walkman or a mp3 player should do the trick. If you don't have one just put some headphones on and hide the end of the cord, and bop to a beat if you look cool. Try to get phone for such occasions and for emergencies. Even the chld phones that only contact parents and 911...something!

What and why are you waiting on the pavement for?? Read a book or listen to some headphones.

The opposite of what u feel! You want to fold your arms, stand with crossed legs fiddling with anythin, so you don't have to look at people! Ironically if you were confident you would just stand still, with arms hanging loose. Standing straight makes you look confident and though you feel exposed, you don't look it. It dates back to cave men, when you feel threaternd you protect vunerable parts. Head down to cover throat and avoid eye contact and arms folded to protect vital organs. If you can have something to do whilst you wait, get your diary up to date or read a magazine.xx

That is funny! There was a similar situation here in Anchorage, Alaska, where a teenager was waiting for his Mom to pick him up, she was a little late so he started dancing, got a lot of attention, even a write up in the paper and a spot on the news! Now he does it all of the time waiting for his ride and he loves it.
