Interesting to read the responses that suggest that being able to display aggression is a measure of civilization. Wow. No wonder the world is in such turmoil.

If you are more powerful and able to dominiate you are civilized. If you are crushed under foot, you are uncivil.

I think it is the way a society treats its poor and needy. The backbone of social structures such as health care, education, pensions, etc.
