The best one I've found is Auslogics Disk Defrag. it's much faster than Windows.

The Windows Defragmenter utility works very well, but a technique used to really do the job well is to boot the computer into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as the pc boots up. Once in Safe Mode, then run the Windows Defrag utility. Once that job is done, just reboot into regular Windows mode. Hope this helps.

XP has its own defrag tool. Go: Start ->run-> and type in the empty space 'defrag' and enter.
Rest is all automated.

I suggest diskeeper (www.diskeeper.com). If you want to pay you will get a brilliant application. However, the free version Diskeeper Lite, whilst no being much of an improvement on the Windows defragmetor, is the best you will get with out paying.
