I agree about writing it down. I use to have the same prob. with my husband. Still do to a certain extent. I had several things that I wanted to tell him so I wrote him a letter. I think your mother should do that. That way it will force him to listen to what she has to say unless he just refuses to read it. If that's the case then it would seem that he just does not care.

Hope this helped.

Awe - the old "selective hearing". It settles in around middle age - right about the time that hairs start growing out of their ears! Maybe it's related!!???. It's very funny that they can hear, "Honey, I'm waiting for you in bed ~ naked", but not, "Honey, take out the trash." We have to stop talking to them from across the room, but do it face to face. If they can't hear us - they can at least read our lips and sign language as we point at the trash can then toward the front door.

And, remember that men are visual creatures. Stand in front of the TV if you really need his attention! (Use this advice with caution!) Remember that they think in boxes and can only do one thing at a time, while we cook dinner, talk on the phone, wash laundry, do homework with our kids, simultaneously. (hehe)

Good luck!

Every now and then I throw in something about underwear or Star Wars, that usually pulls his attention back. Also, I only ever ask 1 question at a time - that helps too.

Noboy likes being nagged. Say something interesting to make him take interest in what u say. Similarly learn to present ur unpalatable communications also in a manner which interests him.

Men don't always want to discuss things like housework, furniture or shopping. If you want something then try saying or doing something nice for him first, like maybe make him a cup of coffee or offer to make him something to eat.

you have to say in while you are naked....lol.....I guess men are not interested at anything we say, the only thing that they do hear is us "nagging"....but we would not have to nag if they were listening in the first place.....because them not listening is what we are nagging about.
