lobster don't scream. they can't. they don't have vocal chords. if there’s any noise at all when the lobster hits the boiling water, it might just be air coming out of its stomach through its mouth parts.

Lobsters do not have vocal cords, so cannot scream.
Occasionally, they expanding gasses escaping the lobster during the steaming process will whistle, which is where the "screaming lobster" myth came from

I don't think the actually scream but yes they do make a sound that is very similar to a scream. Wouldn't you do something if you were suddenly dropped into boiling water lol

I've been told they do scream but, I've never heard one. I've never even had lobster in my whole entire life...this probably sounds terrible (in light of your question) but, on the "Red Loster" ad, they do look very delicious.

I was told that also.
I was also told that if you keep them in salt water, not fresh, until you start to steam them, they don't do that.
I never tried it.
