Here's the list for possible 2007 Gold Glove winners:

American League:

1B Doug Mientkiewicz (NYY)
2B Placido Polanco (DET)
3B Eric Chavez (OAK)
SS Michael Young (TEX)
OF Torii Hunter (MIN)
OF Ichiro (SEA)
OF Vernon Wells (TOR)
C Joe Mauer (MIN)
P Mike Mussina (NYY)

National League:

1B Albert Pujols (STL)
2B Orlando Hudson (ARZ)
3B Scott Rolen (STL)
SS Cesar Izturis (CHC)
OF Andruw Jones (ATL)
OF Chris Duffy (PIT)
OF Mike Cameron (SDP)
C Yadier Molina (STL)
P Greg Maddux (SDP)

In the AL, one could make an agruement for Pudge Rodriguez at catcher, but Mauer is vastly improving defensively. One can also make an arguement for Mark Teixiera from Texas, but Douggy M can pick it with the best of them at 1B! Adam Everett of Houston is a fine defensive SS, as is Khalil Greene, Jack Wilson, and the aforementioned Cesar Izturis, but they have to hit like gangbusters to get consideration. So t goes without saying that a couple of guys who don't deserve Gold Gloves, Jim Edmonds (who is more a hot dogged embellisher than the second coming of Andy Van Slyke) and Edgar Renteria (who wins GGs based on his batting numbers, and yes it happens) will probably win one this season...sigh.

Look for Orlando Cabrera to rebound and have gold glove year at SS. Kevin Youkilis will get his props at 1B. Ichiro Suzuki will be an automatic in outfield. Gary Matthews as well. Vernon Wells 3d outfielder.

Mike Lowell was robbed of a gold glove last year (Chavez? Give me a break!). He'll probably get it this year.

Cardinal's Yadier Molina, he's getting better all the time. Before he had several passed balls, but now he is better than ever. He picks off people all the time with his newly found rocket arm. Watch for him this upcoming season.
