I guess nobody did that simply because the Orient Express doesn't go to Rome (and never did it even in the past...!!)
The Italian stations that have had in the past this special trains are just Milan,Venice and Trieste.
The current Orient Express runs from Paris to Vienna. It is expected to be discontinued on June 9, 2007, with the inauguration of the TGV Est.

The best trains that travel from Venice to Rome are call Eurostar. Time of distance 4 hours and 15 minutes approximately.
