They are only three games behind the Clippers, the eighth and final playoff spot in the West. I think they have a chance to make it.

They can and probably will get the 8th spot, but that means going up against the Mavs in the first round, so it doesn't look too bright, but then again, anything can happen in the playoffs.

True they are only three playoff spots behind the Clippers, but that difference is a lot bigger than it appears, especially in the western conference. The main reason why I don't see the Kings making the playoffs is because they haven't played a consistent stretch of basketball this entire year. They've won a couple games and lost a couple games, and have lost quite a few games against teams that playoff contenders should easily have beaten.

The teams ahead of them are playing better than the Kings have. New Orleans has won 7 of their last ten, while the Kings have lost 4 -6. That momentum will most likely carry New Orleans to the playoffs.

The Kings also have a fairly difficult schedule ahead of them, with 3 games against the Lakers, 2 against San Antonio, 2 against Phoenix, and one each against Dallas, Utah, and Cleveland. That's 10 out of 25 games left (as of march 1st) against teams near the top of their division. However, they do have 2 games apiece left against the Clippers and the Nuggets. If the Kings win those games, then they'll have a much better chance of getting into the playoffs.

Usually at this point of the season, any team at 10th seed and lower wont make the playoffs. But if a 8th and 9th team have a breakdown, that 10th team has a chance. But Kings are 12th, so historically I would say no. But this year the teams down low, in the West, all have a good chance including and above 12th seed. A very low chance, but If you are a Kings fan, and I don't know why you would be, there is still a glimmer of a chance for you guys!

Not until Ron Ron can play offense as good as his defense consistently, anyhow the Clippers don't seem to be slowing down any time soon.

I doubt it. If they do make it they will take a severe butt-whipping in the first round. Better for them to go to the lottery.
