Cupid is the son of Venus(Aphrodite). His counterpart in Greek mythology was Eros, god of love. He is best known as the handsome young god who falls in love with the beautiful maiden Psyche. This story is told in The Golden A$s, a romance by the Roman writer Lucius Apuleius. In other tales he appears as a mischievous boy who indiscriminately wounds both gods and humans with his arrows, thereby causing them to fall deeply in love. Cupid is commonly represented in art as a naked, winged infant, often blindfolded, carrying a bow and a quiver of arrows. The main myth involing Cupid is his love to Psyche. He falls in love with her, but his mother is jealous of her beauty so she tells him to make her fall in love with the ugliest man in the world. But he loves her so much he can't and makes sure she doesn't see him. One night she looks at him and he gets angry. He leaves her unless she can complete 4 tasks. She does all four and they are married by Zeus and she becomes immortal.

Cupid is the son of Venus (Aphrodite). His Greek name is Eros. He is the God of Love. My favorite Greek myth is about him and Psyche. He is known for shooting his arrows into the hearts of unsuspecting mortals to make them fall in love. You can find all kinds of information on the Internet for Cupid (or Eros).
