Sounds like you might be going to a nice place so I think freshness will not be an Issue. Personally I would have the Lamb. especially if they have a little mint jelly on the side as well as horseradish for the mashed pot. I eat a lot of fish during the week so I like to have something special on the weekend.

Think of which meal you would more likely cook at home and then order the other one.

Lamb does have a very distinct flavor that is almost gammy. I actually enjoy the flavor. If this scares you....don't let it. The texture of lamb is very nice and I would recommend a heavy Cabernet or peppery Red Zinfandel to wash it down with. Stay away from Pinot Noir as most of them will be to light to stand up to the lamb.

Sea Bass in a white wine is just not for me. I do however LOVE blackened sea bass. With a buttery Chard or semi dry Riesling.

Either dish will be great but I tend to think about which one will be a hassle to cook at home and I let the chef prepare that one for me.

Enjoy and let us know which one you chose and if you were glad or disappointed in your choice.

hmmmm.....thats a difficult one. I like both.
But I think I'd go for the seabass unless the lamb had mint sauce.
No mint sauce, no lamb.
And like Stuart said, you need space for dessert :)
Have fun :)

Both are excellent choices. Get both and bring the extra home.

depends, both dishes could be questionable if not fresh. i say go with the one with white whine, it has a way of cooking questionable flavors out.

depends on your proclivity for dessert. If you love dessert, go with the fish(its lighter).
