I think we all have our days or times when we act like jerks. We are all human and sometimes life and people get to you and you snap at them or make a rude comment or gesture. That doesn't make you a jerk all the time. Since I don't know you, I can't tell you if you are a total jerk all the time, but I doubt it. Since you do get the feeling sometimes, I'd say to apologize to those you can and next time you have that feeling come over you, try to get a grip of it and realize how you are acting. The bottom line is a jerk is rude, selfish & careless.

In physics, jerk, also called jolt (esp. in British English), surge or lurch, is the rate of change of acceleration; more precisely, the derivative of acceleration with respect to time, the second derivative of velocity, or the third derivative of displacement. Jerk is a vector .
There is a movie by the same name with theme "I'm a jerk! I once had wealth, power, and the love of a beautiful woman. Now, I only have two things. My friends-- three sleeping homeless men, and, uh, ...
The Jerk (1979) is Carl Reiner's rags-to-riches-to-rags film comedy of belated self-discovery. This was Steve Martin's first starring role in a feature film and was also written by him. A jerk is just someone who is rude, without caring about how it may affect others feelings. You can be outspoken , and still be respectful of others. A jerk is someone who will tell you what they think, and not care if they have said it in a disrespectful or hurting way.And usually their purpose IS to offend someone. If you feel like you make rude comments to people to offend them, then you are a jerk. But you don't have to be. You can speak your mind in a tactful way without being a jerk.

What I or anyone else thinks is irrelevant. Do YOU think you are a jerk? If so, you probably are. Try a little empathy. Look at youself from another's perspective. Ask yourself, "would I like to be treated as I treat others?" If not, you're a jerk.

Jerk?

Like Soda-jerk?

Do you wear red & white candy-stripped shirts? Black, horn-rimmed glasses like Clark Kent? Tan dungarees?

Do you ride a Schwinn Flyer to work?

When a pretty girl walks by, or even says, "High", do you say in return, "Aw shucks...".

If you answer no to at least 4 of these questions, you probably aren't a jerk.

You still might be a joik!

Everybody's a jerk sometimes. Its hard to be super nice all the time.
Whats important is that you recognize when you are being a jerk and apologize to whoever gets the brunt of it.....

Everyone has regrets over what one says or does, at one point or another. That is a part of life. One is only a jerk if he has no regret over errors he has made.

You aren't a jerk. Just human.

I don't know you, but you might be. Why do you think you might be.
I do know that true Jerks are very selfish and would not care if they were one or not. \

If you are inconsiderate of the people around you, or either physically or verbally abusive towards others, then you are.

Maybe when you have the feeling that you're a jerk, you are. If you get this feeling, wonder why you're feeling this way. Were you rude to someone? Did you hurt someone's feelings? If you're not sure, ask.
