The colour function for fonts and cells does not work?

Question

If I save to memory stick and print via another PC the colour prints
My laptop is only several months old and uses Excel 2003

Perhaps I did not describe it properly.When I click the colour tabs for font or fill , the screen does not change.When I save to memory stick and view on another PC the colour change shows and when I print the colour prints.I have just discovered the same happens with Powerpoint.
Both Excel and Powerpoint are only viewable in black and white

Check if the printer prints in color through other application say Microsoft Paint... If no the correct printer may not be installed, or the setting might be to print color as B/W. If it works ok with other application then check if the colors are too light to be printed

From this we conclude that the Excel spreadsheet is OK and your problem is with your Printer (settings).

In Excell, choose Printer Settings & see if the Output is set to B&W or Greyscale (rather than Color).
