Obama and Hilary..the course of conversation almost immediately goes to the fact that one of them is a woman and one of them is black????Well...duh..how does that have any relevance at all with their abilities or disabilities of running the country? Color and gender should not be a factor!!! What do u think?

That is exactly what I have been saying every time I see a question referring to candidates race and sex. A person should be elected for their stance on issues not their race or sex.
There are many ignorant and prejudiced people who will only vote based on one issue, race, color, or creed.
When they should be learning ALL the candidates stance on ALL issues and choose the wisest sounding one and the one who seems to give concise answers while seeming truthful.
Anyone but the one that's in office now!

Maybe..just maybe...its because one of them is a woman, and one of them is black. Its really no different than lets say a monkey was the first to walk on the moon...It would come up, in causal conversation the the creature that walked on the moon was a monkey. No one would make a big deal about the monkey's abilities or disabilities...just the fact that a monkey walked on the moon. Most people would get over it, move on, and not try to look for a debate over it. But...its obvious your not like most people.

I agree with you. The press is hyping this up, but I think most people don't care about the race or gender of a candidate, only what they satand for.

i think it would be amazing if either of them won, simply because they would be trailblazers for others, and great role models. I also believe that it should'nt really matter your race, religion, gender, or what you do in your off time. Thats a personal matter.

That's right. Instead, people should focus on his inexperience and her inability to maintain personal integrity. That's all the factor I need, never mind their stance on the most defining struggle in our generation.
