Wherever people are driving to, they can always park right outside and never lock their cars. If they want to pull over, there are plenty of places for them. If they are watching a house, they can park right opposite the house. They never have a problem parking. \anywhere they want to stop. If they want a cab, they never have a problem , they get one in 2 seconds. I wish I could drive in a city like that.No parking meters, no traffic wardens.

Yes, I've noticed that. There are hundreds of movie cliches like that. For example another one is that when someone's on the phone, they always repeat everything that the other person says. The conversation must sound very strange like that! Also when someone calls another person they only need to let the phone ring for about two seconds to realise that they're not there, because everyone always answers on the first ring. There are hundreds of things like that.

The transporter 2, whe he picks the kid up @ school in the beginning of the movie, he drives all the way to the big house in two minutes. The aerial shot shows the streets almost empty on a Friday afternoon. I work close to that area and is a nightmare the whole week.

Artistic license in action. Even films that are "based on a true story" have elements of fiction -- if not outright fantasy.

Also, audience expectations dictate a very quick pace to modern movies. Time spent while the hero (realistically) searches for a parking spot would not be tolerated by viewers or critics.

Yeah but I'm glad because I don't pay ten bucks to sit and watch someone find a parking space for 15 minutes before the movie can continue. It's the same reason we don't have to watch or wait on them to use the bathroom! LOL!

Of course, that´s the way it´s supposed to be. Think a movie depicting people having problems with parking a car, brushing their teeth, wiping their as$...the movie would be 12 hours length. They only have 2 hours to show what they need to.

I really hate in movies when the driver of the car is having a conversation with someone else in the car and doesn't even have to look at the road to see where they are going, they just babble on, no thought to road in front of them,.

I mean, come on, isn't REAL acting making us believe they are actually driving somewhere for real.

and there's more. thanks to Hollywood we know that; cars on gravel with screaming tires, at night the light in the house has always to come out of the fridge, one match illuminates a whole stadium, all the bedsheets are L shaped, during a chase, the car can keep up with a bike, even in heavy traffic and so on, and so on......

If you see the movie Amélie from Montmarte, she complains about actors driving without looking at the road, it happens frequently in old movies.

AND.......... they always look at the person they are talking to. Their eyes are off the road and on the phone, bag, passenger for ages.

This worries me.
Remind me never to drive in Movieland. (unless i need to park)

Who wants to see someone try and find a parking space. I didn't pay $7.50 for that.
