is it just me or does anyone think that when taylor hicks and rueben won american idol it was just wrong. Taylor Hicks is a jerk. the first couple times i saw him i thought it was different and funny after that i could not stand watching him. Maybe at best he would be fun at a wedding (not mine) and Rueben? what ever happened to him anyway? does anyone know what came of Bo? i hope this year the public does better when voting. and i really hope they stop doing those boring songs. the only people i can even remember from this week is Blake, Chris R. , and Lakisha and the other ones i remember is bcause they were really bad.
the doolittle girl has a great voice but there is something about her that i just don't like. everytime she performs my 3 teenagers laugh their heads off.

I have to agree with you - hubby and I stopped watching AI last year after Chris Daughtry was voted off.
Rueben to me was better than Clay, but who was up there with them that got voted off and should not have? I cannot even remember.
Doolittle has the same effect in our household - kids won't vote for her good voice - says she looks too old and funny.

I liked Rueben and Taylor was my pick last season.
They are singing some boring songs this year. I heard Bon Jovi will be a guest soon. That should be a great night for song choices.
I don't really remember any of the names yet. I like the bald guy, and Nick. From what I've seen so far, I definately think the winner will be a guy again this year.
I do agree about Ms. Doolittle. She sings good, but I she doesn't have that likabiltiy factor. And I really hate to say it, but she looks funny.
It will definately be an interesting season.

I agree...I didn't like Taylor at all. I think there were a few others more deserving. I've seen Rueben's face on a CD or two while browsing at stores but that's about all. I hope America does right this year because there are a few that really deserve it. And you are right about Doolittle. She has an amazing voice but its time to get that dumb and shy act out of the way.

Rueben is popular on the R & B charts, if you don't listen to the R& B stations you probably have not heard him on the radio. Same with Fantasia.
Taylor Hicks -- Geez, that whole soul patrol/jerky head movement thing got tired really fast with me. I thought there were 3 or 4 people that outsang him consistently on his season. But there is no accounting for the taste of American voters. After all Paris Hilton is popular in our country, for what exactly we may never know.. LOL
I love Lakeisha, Melinda, Jordin, Sabrina, Stephanie & Gina for the girls and Blake, both Chrises, and AJ and Jared if they kick it up a notch.

Yeah I wish people would vote for the voices not because of personality completely or looks. Taylor Hicks is awful and Mandisa or Chris deserved to win last year. Lakisha is so awesome and so is Melinda, they definitely have the best voices by a mile. I don't think Melinda is just acting like she's shy, I think she is being herself.

Melissa Doolittle is SO phony. She pretends like she's so unaware that she knows how to sing when really she knows exactly how good she is. I hate her. Taylor Hicks and Rueben were HUGE mistakes. Chris Daughtry should have won last year by a mile! Chris Richardson is really good, Blake Lewis is kinda good. I think this years contestants are just boring. There is nobody that makes me say WOW. You are right.

American Idolis always fun to watch,but I agree with you about Taylor Hicks. He was fun to watch, but by far not the best singer in last year's competition.I think he will be totally forgotten in two years. Rueben, I have to disagree with you on.He is doing quite well with several R&B and gospel releases. And, he very much can sing.As Simon always says, it is a singing competition...and the man proved he had the talent.

Is it just me or does the Dolittle girl looks like she has no neck? She walks around and keeps her shoulders up high like she's a tortoise trying to put her head back into her shell.
She looks like a black version of Willow to me.
But she can sing. Someone else here said she was "phony." I can't tell if she's phony or not, but she was only a background singer all her life, so I can see why she'd be surprised when people consider her a lead singer.

The problem is in the voting. Anybody can vote as many times as they want and as many times as they can get through. What does that prove? It makes no sense and it doesn't produce the best singer or talent. Even as a popularity contest, it doesn't work.

Taylor Hick's CD is terrific! I saw Bo this summer at a beach concert and he is just unbelievably talented! Great show! And you are so-o-o right about this year's contestants.....boring!!!!!
