You're right about that. What I think is going on here, though, is blacks have used the n-word just in general conversation, but become infuriated when a white person uses it. Plus, the n-word is pretty much the only racial slur that is used by the race its intended to insult.
To put it all to rest, they just say don't use it at all.

Ok, I've never heard anyone use Asian racial slurs as anything BUT racial slurs. The N word has become as common as dude amoungst blacks. We are using a word meant to deride, degrade, humiliate, and menatally enslave us as a tower of light...I guess its time to stop.
I don't see Jews calling themselves dirty names. Nor Italians. Nor the Irish.
