the PS3 has more Power if a person wants next gen why not go for the most powerful one i mean if i wanted to just play games at below par why not just stay with the original xbox. the PS3 seems like it has a lot of extra stuff to i mean i spent 400+ for the XBOX 360 and now the are trying to push a HD DVD drive when the PS3 comes stock with bluray with a lot more extra. I am wondering if there is something i a missing on the subject?

Listen, people will say what they will. If your a XBOX fanboy then you are going to find glitches, exaggerate issues, make up things, and if you are a PS3 fanboy, you'll do the same to XBOX. Many people are stuck on one or the other, and they defend their system to the end. Personally, I was looking for what would be best in the end, and I feel that PS3 has the upper hand with the Blu-Ray, not just for the amazing quality of the BRDVD but also the amount of information on the game disk. I dont know that PS3 has even unlocked a 10th of its potential, which is normal if you recall the PS2 is still getting better.
XBOX had a year lead on the PS3, and in that year XBOX took full advantage of the time to exploit the problems with the PS3 (a system that hadn't even come out yet.) Not to mention, the price really upset many consumers, because they just look at the PS3 as a game system, when it is more of a computer entertainment system. But, a year from now, maybe even as long as 2 years, people will never admit they were haters of the PS3 because it is likely to be a much more dominate system.

Since the PS3 isn't that much better looking than the 360 there are a few of reasons to go with the 360. First off, most of the 3rd party developers will want to make games that can port over easily, they will make games that work on the 360 then port them without much modification over to the PS3. If they made games for the PS3 first they would have to downgrade them a little to make them work properly on the 360 (more time and money). Most developers have already said that it is easier to program for the 360.

XBOX Live is a major reason to go with the 360 since it has chat and messaging across all games, which means that you could be playing one game and your buddy could be playing a completely different game and you could still chat without having to be in the dashboard or in the same game. PS3 does not offer this. With 360 you can pause your game and check any messages you receive and with the PS3 you have to actually exit the game to check messages (very inconvenient).

Finally, you have the library. Out of the box the XBOX has a much larger library since it’s been out longer. The quality of games that you can download on the XBOX is also much much better.

Believe me Im not a fanboy, I own all 3 systems (Wii, 360, PS3) and have found that the 360 as of right now offers me the best games and features.

There are some people who are against the PS3 no matter what. We call them 360 and Wii fanboys. They will support MS and Nintendo no matter what.

I don't think they're against the PS3, they're just taking a wait and see stand to see how the PS3 will play itself out. The 600 price tag is not something that most people will buy on a whim. They want it, but they don't want to or can't shell out 600 bucks to get it. If Sony had started the price at 400/500, I think most people wouldn't be so much against the PS3.

There's also the launch debacle. The demand for the PS3 was feverishly high, but the supply was extremely low, so a lot of people didn't get a PS3 for the Christmas holidays, so a lot of gamers were angry. Store employees were turning the launch into a sick game. One store had musicals chairs to decide who would get a PS3, even though it should be a first come, first serve basis. Another store had everyone stand behind a line, and then had a race to see who would get a PS3. There are also people who bought a PS3 just to put it up on Ebay. That pissed off a lot of gamers who wanted a PS3. And finally,the launch games were terrible.

because people are impatience they want the ps3 exclusive titles right away it takes to develope such as tekken 6 metal gear solid guns of patriots that all
and the ps3 is not a bad system if you ask me i mean you dont a huge plug like the 360 the ps3 already comes with a wireless controller unlike the 360 you have the the 399.99 version not to mention the battery and charger is seprate plus most system dont come with really good games until the console is about a year old look at xbox 360 gears of war did not come for a year and i think nintendo made a big mistake by releasing one of its major franchise the zelda . the spring and summer for ps3 looks likes its releasing some pretty good games and all the ps3 haters who are on the bandwagon of the nintendo wii will jump ontop the ps3 bandwagon also because the wii was released 2 days later after ps3 release and the prices

the ps3 is a better system. all new systems have bugs and the 360 fanboys over exagerate the ps3 bugs. hell, the 360 never got rid of its bugs. you still hear how it breaks down all the time. i have seen the 360 and it looks nice. but i never liked xbox controllers and i loved my ps2. so naturally, i got the ps3. some games will look similar because as some people already pointed out, it takes less time and money to just port a game rather than make a whole new one. but games made for sony by sony developers will not be matched by anything the 360 can do. look at resistance or motorstorm, then look at the two best 360 launch games. you will laugh. the ps3 clearly is the best and is only going to get better with time.

There are pros & cons to both systems. Here is overview in regards to the systems:

PS3
Pros:
1. Latest Technology - Amazing Graphics;
2. Free online play (when it is available);
3. Blu-ray Technology for a great price

Cons:
1. Very Expensive (Up to $600.00 not including any HD Cables or Video Games);
2. It is going to take about a year to work out the bugs (The PS3 has backwards compatability issues - up to 200 PS2 titles don't work);
3. It will take about 1 year before you will starting seeing some really good game titles (See #6);
4. Lack of Tech Support. If there are any problems you will be paying the bill about $200.00;
5. Blu-ray takes up more space on the hardrive (4 times compared to regular format);
6. Since of the new technology programmers lack the training in developing PS3 games to maxmize the new technology;
7. Video Games prices will be higher about $10.00 to $20.00 more than your typical standard price of $49.95 to $59.00
8. To get the the amazing graphics you will need an HD TV (It will work on a standard TV but not as good)

Xbox 360:
Pros:
1. Good Price ($400.00 for Premium System)
2. Amazing Graphics
3. Great Online Service - Xbox live;
4. Has some awesome game titles (ie: Gears of War, Too Human, Halo 3)
5. Bugs have already been worked out (ie: Most Xbox games can be played on the Xbox 360; therefore, very few backwards compatability issues)

Cons:
1. You will need to purchase HD DVD Player to play HD DVDs which is about $150.00
2. Xbox Live Gold Membership is about $50.00/Yr
3. Xbox 360 hardward can get overheated and cause problems (This of course doesn't happen on a regular basis, and you will need to purchase a cooling fan system (for about $15.00 to $25.00) to prevent overheating problems)
4. To get the the amazing graphics you will need an HD TV (It will work on a standard TV but not as good)

Also you need to realise that when you look at the two systems and compare the graphics of each system your naked eye cannot tell the difference of which is the better system. Gamespot.com had an article with a back to back look at the graphic of both systems with images.

So you need to ask youself three questions:

1. Does it fit my budget;
2. What games do I like to play and what game titles are/or will be available;
3. What is the best bang for your buck (ie: Paying $600.00 for the latest Technology but lacking the games and support...etc)

I myself have a PS2 (which I love) and I also have Xbox 360. I do want to get PS3 but for reasons I mention above it is not the right time.

I hope this helps you.
