a lot of people seem to have it. My suggestion would be to figure out what you are doing when you are the happiest and then make time to do that particular thing more often.
I don't know what age it is normal, but try to make yourself feel better. Life is short and worth this effort.
I have a few friends that suffer from depression, and my dad also does too and it is a hard thing to talk them out of.
I have figured out that the more they feel needed, and the more they feel like their life has a purpose, the less depressed they tend to get.
My suggestion is for you to focus on solving your problem. Maybe find a fun hobby that you can truly enjoy, even if you are alone( ie...I write funny childrens stories), and then make time to do that hobby. This will at least give you things to look forward to.
Or if you feel unappreciated, maybe volunteer to help an elderly relative on certain days, or something similar to that where you can feel needed more.
I hope I helped.
You can IM me if you need to talk ever.

Sometime just focussing on trying to make yourself feel better can help you feel better too.

Have you been clinically diagnosed as having depression?
Or do you just have "the blues?" There is a difference you know. Everyone gets the blues now and then. That is a part of life.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Depression is caused by self-pity. I know...I used to have it.
USED TO.
