Do you have to Transfer Funds to your Paypal Acc from a Checking Acc?

I need a little help, I just purchased a carfax report off of eBay for $5, and my balance on paypal is 0.00 USD, my question is, did it automatically withdraw the $5 from my online checking account (this is the acc i added to paypal to verify) or do I have to go Add Funds to it? and in the future, will i have to add funds in order to purchase something, or does it automatically subtract from my online checking account?

On the My Account Overview pg from Paypal under recent activity, it says Amount -$5.00 USD & Status is Uncleared

No, you do not need to add funds from your Checking account to your PayPal account. Just let that eCheck clear. It will take 3-4 business days though. But don't worry about it. The seller has been notified via an automatic email. The only reason for you to add funds is if your looking to make a quick transaction from your bank account. If you got a credit or debit card it will make paying from your bank account faster. Since PayPal will give you the option of Instant Transfer from bank account.

Do you have your bank account added to the funding options or whatever the proper phrase is for it...well anyways if you have a bank account or credit card added to the paypal account when you pay for something it takes it from that source and your paypal balance will always be 0$ unless someone sends you money.

The seller was not licensed to resell a Carfax report - Carfax has no reseller program. Thus all guarantees on the report are void. The eBay auction was probably shut down after you made your purchase.
