I don't think its based only on mic skills. vince promotes who He likes. Historically its been the big guy that cant wrestle his way out of a toilet. Guys that can go generally don't get the big opportunities, like Shelton, Cm. Punk, RVD, Chris Benoit. I'd rather see those guys main event over Batista or Lashley any day of the week. Its hrd to get guys over when they are put in 6 minute matches week after week after week as well.

While Jeff doesn't have mic charisma, he has a hook, and his hook is his look and style. Shelton doesn't have a hook, aside from being very talented. Shelton's had ample opportunity to get push. Triple H jobbed to him three times CONSECUTIVELY! He just can't get over with the crowd on a personal level. People look at Hardy and see an artistic and unique individual, and some relate and imitate by dressing like him (and trust me, I hate the Hardy marks, but they're out there). The same people look at Shelton Benjamin and see a black AJ Styles. I'm not saying Shelton isn't deserving of a push, and I think he'd be successful in a place like TNA, but Shelton's been in two money in the banks, had a main event mainstay job to him three times, and still can't get over with the audience. I'm not saying there aren't any Benjamin fans out there, I'm a Shelton fan, but the main demographic just doesn't relate or connect with him.

Hardy does well because he has a reputation and is fun to watch...Shelton just needs some sort of gimmick, he cant find anything that works, he tried the all-american good guy role-nope; he tried the deprived black man role- nope, and now he's back to the whole world's greatest tag team thing, and thats not gonna get him but so far. If he can just get some sort of gimmick the fans will get behind him. Its been the same thing with lashley, people are getting behind him now tho because he has Trump talking for him.

Here's something else that bugs me about the business: They put a guy in a crappy storyline, he's a pro he goes along, and then it's his fault that the crappy storyline buries him and he gets canned. That's what happened to Benjamin. Hardy is up there because his in-ring work is sooo sick that people come to see him work, not talk. He does suck on the mike, agreed. Shelton needs a manger and a good storyline. Whatever happened to stables?

Shelton can't even memorize a three minute promo. There's a problem with that, because if you notice, main eventers are the ones doing to 10-15 minute long ones at the beginning of each show.
Oh wait. You're Scott Q, you knew that already.

Couldn't we just call them the exceptions and not the rules? Look back at how many stars had been held back and compare to many got past the glass ceiling. Owen Hart's name runs right to mind and even to this day I still say Chris Benoit hasn't been allowed to go as far as he really can/could have.
