In terms of cultural issues?

Cultural appropriation is a big way this happens. Basically this means that non-Natives take pieces of Native culture and use it for their own benefit. You probably recognize the Kokopeli symbol which is used all over the U.S. (inappropriately). You can look up Kokopeli on the internet to see what I mean. This cultural appropriation has spread so much that now people are calling themselves modern day shamans and stealing pieces of Native spirituality. Appropriation hurts Native tribes because people aren't using the culture appropriately. And Medicine men are not shamans (incorrect term) and do not charge for services. Regardless, popular culture eats these things up and loves the romantic version of Native culture.
Some other ways: Native traditional medicines are now being looked at by pharmeceutical companies, Native law affects all people around and this Native law comes from the need to preserve culture,
Another thing is Native's cultural use of the environment. Because of all the environmental issues occuring in modern society today non-Natives are finally looking at traditional Native American practices to enlighten themselves on benificial environmental practices.

Hope this helps!
By the way I'm a Native woman.

The Irroquois Nation was one of the first democracies, and Ben Franklin used to observe it. It's been suggested (and believeably so) that it influenced the ideas for our democracy today.
Canoes are from the woodland Indians. Kayaks are from the Inuit tribe (Alaska), moccasins of course again from the woodland Indians. Many words we have today, such as moose and raccoon, are from the Indians. And many states and cities are Native American names.
Corn is from the Indians. They didn't have that in Europe (until it was brought over by those who'd met the Indians, that is).
