Music is a hard way to make a living. I have semi-professional musician friends who stuggle in life to make a living.

Even DJ'ing is tough, because it is a cutthroat business. If you are really good at selling yourself, and selling your product, then you might be able to make a living at it. Trust me -- it will be more about your ability as a salesman, than your ability as a DJ that will make or break you (but you still have to be a good DJ, too).

If you can get enough capital together for a CD/record shop, AND do the DJ stuff on the side, then you have a better chance at making a living.

As far as being a performance musician, that's even harder to make a living at.

Good Luck

Hallo ...., I think that is the great idea if you have interest on music as you said and if also you have talents. This is your life, do what your heart tells you because music is not a bad thing to do, many people have become successfully through music, so even your dreams can become true. But you have to understand that this can take a short time or a long time until you became famous depending on your talents and financial situation to establish a record store and accomplish your dreams. Therefore, I advice you to carry on your ambition, keep it up.
