I live in the country too and if you shoot people just for coming to the door there's something wrong. I get Jehovahs, salesmen, people looking for my neighbours, for pets...It's not my first thought to shoot them. What kind of area do you live? Or are you just paranoid? In my neck of the woods country people are friendly and helpful. Maybe you should move to the city.
EDIT: Maybe she was really afraid of your dog. It might have surprised her and some people are deathly afraid of them. She might only have been trying to get away. I have a dog too and wouldn't dream of siccing him on someone unless I truly believed they meant me harm. I've had people stuck in the ditch, out of gas, etc. come to the door at night. You make your own judgement, but I've never had problems with the ones who come to the door. The thieves and vandals don't want you to know they're there. I've lived in the country for 50 years.

I have a fence a gate a wolf and sings including one that says
" If You weren't Invited
or
You didn't call FIRST
GO AWAY !."
Yesterday there was some guy with his face smushed in the gate yelling " HEY, HEY" The wolf was standing there growling and he would not leave ! The cops came and told him to go. Why don't they get it I say shoot them. Get a gate if they come in it is trespassing and you will be done with them !
