Because they are lazy. They think it's easier to give in than to take the time to teach their kids to take responsibility for their own lives... they will change their minds when their kids are in their 40s, still living at home, still expecting mommy and daddy to do their laundry and pay their bills!!!

That's a very good question. I find it baffling why people bother to have children if there not going to be responsible for them and teach them the ways of the world. Our prisons are chalk full of men and women who came from broken families. I especially love the people who's only reason to have kids is to save a marriage! Just how selfish is that nonsense?

It is not okay. Even to install a simple electronic equipment, you need a manual.

To let out a kid without guidelines - and so without responsibility - into this world of ours, is not the best option.

I was raised that way. My parents thought that I should have time just to be a kid. They were well intended but it was very hard for me once I got out on my own. I had to learn everything myself and most things I learned the hard way. Believe you me, my kids have responsibilities, but we also have balance.

You have to get a license to be a barber (and that's good), but you can screw and spit out kids like Chicklets but be absolutely clueless about raising them to be responsible, thinking, caring adults.

Selfishness and self-centeredness, and a lack of commitment.
