Can someone give me ideas about where I can dump used oil out of my car. I really don't want to pay anyone to do this, and preferably I'd like to just to the place and dump it myself and not have to wait/talk to anyone.

Many auto parts places take it.

You could call your county or city sanitation offices and find out the best place.

The problem with letting people do it by themselves is that other stuff gets into the oil containers like transmission fluid, antifreeze, brake fluid, etc.

Some places have recycling centers for used motor oil, and although they don't advertise it, most oil lube centers will take the oil for you if you tell them what it is.
