No you shouldn't worry too much right now. Most dopplers do not pick up the heartbeat until after 10 weeks and it is usually closer to 12.

Do not worry. The baby is very small at this time, and the doctor cannot always find a heartbeat, or it's not strong enough yet. I'm 16 weeks, and it took my doctor about 5-10 minutes just to find the heartbeat because the baby is so active at this point. You should have an ultrasound done soon, and you can see the baby. If their equipment allows them to, you may hear the heart beat then. If you had anything to worry about, you doctor would have scheduled an emergency ultrasound to make sure the baby was there.

No, you shouldn't be worried, even though I know it is hard not to. My OB won't even use the doppler until 12 weeks, just so women don't get scared like this. It is more common to NOT hear the h/b at 9 weeks than it is to hear it. There are a lot of reasons why 1) The baby is toward the back of your uterus instead of the front 2) if you are carrying any extra weight in your belly then it will be harder to her the h/b......and so on. If your Dr. was concerned, I'm sure he would have ordered an ultrasound. Good luck with your pregnancy, I'm sure everything will be fine!

I wouldn't worry if I were you. I had spotting at 10 weeks and they tried to find the heartbeat with doppler but couldn't. So- they sent me for ultrasound. The baby had a strong heartbeat and was moving around well. I know it's hit or miss to find a heartbeat on doppler prior to 12 weeks. Don't panic yet...if you're worried ask the doctor to send you for ultrasound so they can see the baby's heart beating.

I am surprised the doctor did not order an ultrasound to get a visual of the heartbeat. I would like to say "don't worry" and maybe you shouldn't. To calm your fears, call the doctor and as if they could do an ultrasound. Once you see that little heart beating, all is right with the world. God Bless and good luck.

No, don't worry. The best time to start listening with a doppler is around 12 weeks. Just relax, and next time you should be able to hear it. Good Luck and Congrats!

too early hunny but when u had your ultrasound didn't u get to see the heart beating? oh man i was balling it was just the most amazing thing i ever saw hang in there a few more weeks and you should be able to hear it. If your doctor doesn't check for some strange reason you can get fetal heart monitors at a baby store sometimes they rent them. GOOD LUCK!

Don't be worried at all.
I was hospitalised at 18 weeks due to anxiety attacks and it took them 20minutes to find a heartbeat
And it wasn't anything to worry abt
Because baby is so small, baby can hide - when baby is bigger the heartbeat should be easier to find
I'm not sure that your doctor should search for a heartbeat with a doppler anytime before 16weeks as its difficult to find and it will just worry you.

don't stress but you need to be prepared. hopefully the little one was in a spot and they couldn't pick up the heartbeat. but my mom was pregnant a few years ago and around 8 weeks they couldn't find a heartbeat, they of course tried again in a week or so but she carried the baby until 12 weeks 1 day with no heartbeat before she miscarried. i wish you all the luck in the world.
reading all the other answers, i heard my baby's heart at 8 weeks.
