At that age, there really isn't anything you can give them. If the baby is so congested that she can't breath, take her to the doctor. That is the safest thing to do. Most meds say for children under the age of 2 to ask a doctor...Good luck!

Try using a combination of a cool mist humidifier, saline nose drops and a nasal aspirator (booger sucker). It is best not to give them any over the counter meds for as long as possible. Also I would make sure there is not a draft or fan blowing over them especially while sleeping. If the congestion persists or your baby has a fever you should take her to a pediatrician.

Ok. this is going to sound crazy. My mother and I hate eachother. She is mother of 5 healthy adult girls. When My son Jaryn was about 1 month old, he was having problems w/ congestion. I had him sleep in his Carrier so he was upright making it easier to breath and I had a vaporiso w/ some eucalyptis oil in it. (just enough to make it smell) When I ran out of options(because you can't use meds) I called my mom. She told me to take an onion and shave a couple slices of it, put it in a bowl, Sprinkls some sugar over the top of the onions. Let it sit over night. The sugar draws out the onion juices and feed your baby just about 1/2 teaspoon. or less because yours is so young. The onion (use a walla walla sweet onion- as they have a mild flavor and are not spicy.) It works like a freaking Charm! I've told this to everyone I know and they tell me it works. But I feel you, My son is now three(which means he survived this home remedy ;) and I still freak out over temp raises and colds. THat will never go away.

Don't use meds. This is a normal thing in this age. What you can do is get a saline nasal spray for infants and put a few drops in the nose as she is laying down. Let her stay on her back for a few minutes and then kind of hold her for a while like you are burping her. This loosens the mucus and it drains down the throat or out the mouth. I hated doing this to my son becasue it doesn't seem pleasant, but it works.

Both my son and my daughter caught colds when they were that young, my doc told me that all we could do for them was to get saline nose spray for their congestion, the meds aren't safe for the real little ones. And I read somewhere that if you use medication that stops your symptoms when you have a cold the cold actually last longer because your symptoms (sneezing, coughing) is actually what gets the virus out of your body.

No meds at that age...I can recommend something tho, because I have been in your shoes. Get a humidifier, best thing for them.
Also you might consider getting a wedge for the baby to sleep on. That will help the stuff in his/her nose drain abit better.
Good Luck :D

No meds. You can get a humidifier (or turn the shower on really hot), or use an aspirator. A little breastmilk up the nose helps too.

Get a cool mist humidifier for the baby. Elevate the baby's crib or bassinet so the head is slightly elevated. They have baby vapor rub also but I don't know for sure what the youngest age you can use it is. I used it on my baby and it really helped. The hardest thing of all suck the baby's nose, use saline drops and suck them out with a baby aspirator. I hate doing it but it really helps.

i replaced into informed to no longer supply pedialyte till my daughter replaced right into a million. i could be careful because of the ammount of electrolytes in it. i've got on no account heard that it enables with congestion. attempt a heat bath, and splash a splash water in his nostril to attempt to loosen it up. Or I did this, turn the bathe on warm, and take him interior the bathing room and close the door 75% of how. I sat on the lavatory and rocked her mutually as the bathe replaced into going. The steam acts as a humidifyer. good success!
