They are practical! However, as with all things in our world that are practical, they look ridiculous!
The more fashionable something is, the less practical it tends to be! For example, high heels, I can't wear them! Sexy, yes! Comfy, not for me!

They are VERY practical. But then again so are velcro shoes.....
But if it suits your needs, who cares. I will be going on a trip soon where I will be biking and may get one of the new sporty looking ones. I may look like a nerd but hey, at least this nerd won't be losing her passport and credit cards.
