if you have 2 computers and 1 comp alrdy has the wireless cable modem to it do you still need a wireless router or can you just get a wireless NIC for the other comp?

Yep, just get another wireless NIC, make sure you can log on to home address first, (check the router manufacters website for info) and then just set it up, save some money, or you could get a wireless bridge/access point if you need extended range (40-60bucks) good luck.

Honestly, it depends on the cable modem.

Some are wireless cable modems with a built in wireless hub and router. Others are nothing more than a wireless modem with support for only one computer.

You will either need to read the manual or give us the model number so we can look it up.

THat would depend on the cable modem. Most of them now have both. Hard to say without more information :) Cheers
