I am looking for a place to take my car to fix the timing belt at a good price I do not have much money can you help me with this

My car is a 97 Plymouth Neon I am in San antonio tx and I mean replacing the engine where and cheappest then i more than likelymissed up valves so I need to now about that also

You need to give the specific type of car, and hopefully the engine model.

When you say repair a timing belt. I don't believe anyone repairs timing belts. They are simply removed and replaced. However if you waited too long and you let your timing belt break, you need to know if your engine is an interference fit engine or a non-interference fit engine. If your engine is and interference fit engine (most Hondas) then it is highly likely that you have valve damage. If your engine is a non-interference fit engine (most older Toyotas) then simply replacing the timing belt may fix your problem.

Difference in cost is huge. An interference fit engine needs to have it's valves replaced and could cost between $1500-$2000. A non-interference fit engine would simply need to have it's belt replaced and retimed, about $300-$400

Depends on the car.

Water pump is usually replaced too..

Maybe as little as $425 or as much as $800

It will reqiure relacement and you will just have to ask frineds and co-workers for good inexpensive techs. I could help if you are close to Everett WA.
