When i came off the pill, I had the normal "pill period" then I had a 34 day cycle (avg for me is 37 days), second one was a 39 day cycle, and my third cycle, so far, is 51 days (and will likely be about 60 days if i'm not preggo). I have a friend whose first cycle off the pill was 94 days. I'd recommend tracking you basal body temperature. That was you can tell if you've ovulated. I was concerned when my current cycle hit the 40 day mark but then I looked at my chart and realized that I hadn't ovulated yet. that put my mind at ease. Getting back to normal varies so much for everyone. My period signs were just like the were before I went on the pill, cramping, mood swings, and tender breasts. You've no need to worry yet. It can take 3-6 months to get back to normal. Good luck!

I was on the pill for 13 years and had my first proper period 28 days later. However, many women take a while to get a regular cycle back. 80% of women ovulate again within 3 months and 95% within 6 months, so it could take a little while before you get a period again.

After coming off the pill, my period came within 28 days. Did you stop in the middle of the pack? A lot of times when you stop in the middle, your period starts up right away. Or, your body may need some time to readjust back to normal. Give it time either way.

It can take 6 months or more to return to fertility after discontinuing the pill, though some women return to fertility right away. Hormonal birth control also depletes the body of vitamins (especially b-vits). It's a good idea to build up your nutrtional stores whether or not you are planning to TTC.
I highly recommend charting your fertility signs. Your chart can tell you when you are fertile, when you are not, when you are ovulating, when to expect your next period, and when to suspect pregnancy. Your chart can also tell you if there are issues delaying conception or causing difficulty w/ carrying a pregnancy and if there are serious issues which need a doc's attention.
Some good sources for charting your fertility signs: Fertilityfriend.com (free software as well as a pay-for version and on-line charting turorial); ovusoft.com (discussion boards for many fertility related issues, much info on fertility after the pill, and a very good software for purchase). The books Taking Charge of Your Fertility (associated w/ the the ovusoft website and software), The Art of Natural Family Planning, and Garden of Fertility

Not sure about this one, any chance you could be preggers? I came off the pill after using it for 2 years and fell pregnant within 3 days!!!! I have heard that if your periods were irregular before you went on the pill it will be the same again afterwards.
Good luck.

I got slight spotting a few days after I stopped and my next proper period started 27 days later but I hear it can take a while to get into a regular cycle.
