Im wanting to overclock my athlon 64 x2 dual core 3800 which is currently running at 2.01ghz

Where do i start? ive never done this before but read someone safely clocked it to 2.4 and its stable as a rock

What Rube would overclock a 64 bit processor? Its already far faster than any application on the market could possibley need!

if you've never overclocked a computer before, i would'nt try it on your primary computer for the first time, as there are considerable risks in overclocking and most processors need extra cooling to overclock safely. if the dual core amd processors run as hot in stock form as the single core ones do a upgrade of your cooling is mandatory. personally i would go to watercooling for overclocking any amd processor.

Overclocking causes hardware damage, don't do it.
