Cookies are used by web designers to track visitors to a website so the visitors do not have to enter the same information every time they go to a new page or revisit a site. For example, web designers use cookies to keep track of purchases a visitor wants to make while shopping through a web catalog. ... No problem, you've done it right, it's just that next time you might have to re-enter your details instead of having them come up automatically.

Ever wondered how, when you sign on to your account with a mail order company they remember your address and, possibly, address you by name? With a cookie, that's how.

Hi

Well technically no , cause you are just clearing your cookies and temp directory . So if it was done right , then no , everything will be ok . Now IF just so happens that when you go to a site that you usually visit and ask you again for user and password , then YES its long gone . you have to type it again . As for cookies well they are sometimes a pain in the butt , but they are use to store sites information everytime you visit them. like for instance , if you go to a site wish is legal and ask you for user and password then that info will be store in the cookies on your pc

No you didnt ruin your computer. Cookies are recoverable.....they are mostly what you get when you tell a site to save your password....from the way you explained it you did erase your internet history correctly......but if you have alot of sites where you have them automatically save your password then i would recommend that you only clear your history next time.
