Could be that imagination is all that there is.

This is more easily understandable if one considers the actual scale of the components of an atom. If one takes into account the fact that the neutrons, protons and electrons of an atom actually have huge spaces between them it becomes clear that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are made up of 99+ percent empty space.

This alone does not seem too important till you add the idea that the atoms that make up seemingly solid objects are more of a loose conglomeration that share a similar attraction but never really touch each other.

At first glance this does not really seem relevant, but closer analysis reveals that this adds a tremendous amount of empty space to solid objects that are already made up of atoms that are 99 percent space. When so-called solid objects are seen in this light it becomes apparent that they can in no way be the seemingly solid objects they appear to be.

We ourselves are not exceptions to this phenomenon.

These seemingly solid objects are more like ghostly images that we interpret as solid objects based on our perceptual conclusions.

From this we must conclude that Perception is some sort of a trick that helps us to take these ghostly images and turn them into a world we can associate and interact with. This clever device seems to be a creation of our intellect that enables us to interact with each other in what appears to be a three dimensional reality.

I hope that helps to answered your question.

It's a part of human consciousness, the human is alive, therefore so is the imagination.
Imagination is also the fastest thing in the universe, faster than light. In take you from your classroom on earth to the farthest reaches of the galaxies in the time it takes to form the thought and image.
Some may say that imagination can appear take on life of it's own but I believe that it takes on the life it's "owner" gives it by giving it expression.

If you mean can it be 'alive' as a 'separate body with it's own life' then no, it can't be 'alive' ... if you are asking whether an imagination can be alive METAPHORICALLY then yes, it can and should be 'alive' ... as opposed to the person who's imagination is 'dead' and who can't see beauty, or dream of going to the stars and would seem 'dead' ...

Not sure what you are asking. There are two very different types of imagination, creative and mechanical. Creative imagination requires intent and effort. The mechanical type happens of itself and to make it worse it is often negative. Negative imagination is one of the biggest sources of negative reality creation.

I'm not sure whether imagination in itself can be "alive" but I know for sure that it can bring other things to live:
art
music
stories...

I think imagination IS alive, it has emotions and moods, and it takes us to places where reality can't concieve. It's sweet like that.

Hope that helps

Imagination lives only in my minds' thoughts...not actively engaged until I decide....does it have a life of its own -- NO! I control when it comes to the fore. Once I implement it ; it then becomes a thing...my thought/my thing.

it is just like faith, or love, or hate. A term that only lives as we continue to feed it with our thoughts, words, and actions. Stopping feeding our imagination and it dies.
