I don't understand your question entirely.

If you mean a marriage with God as in "married to God" (i.e., nuns, etc.), I believe that is wrong. God said to "Go forth and multiply" and celebacy does not acheive that. Therefore, I believe it is wrong.

If you mean a marriage between a man and a woman, involving God as a religious foundation for their lives, then, yes, I do believe that those marriages last longer than marriages between two people that do not involve God.

I think that is a good question. I was married before, but God wasn't 'involved' in the actual marriage ceremony, and those marriages ended. I am married now to a man who believes, as I do, that Christ is the 'third member' of our union ... we have 'three intertwined rings' as our wedding rings because of this ... and we are definitely 'married for a lifetime and beyond' ... but that is just one marriage ... I would like to get GOOD statistics on your question ...

It depends on your faith together as a couple united whether or not it will last longer. As long as your faith stays grounded together you two should have only the day to day learning and none of the nonsense of adultry, wavering of any kind that would displease God or disrespect your marriage. Hope this answers your question and what you were looking for.
Best wishes to you!

Its obviously not impossible to have a relationship without god but I think its true because of the fact that if you start with the same faith it means you have the same values and beliefs and it makes it easier esp. when it comes to things such as how to raise your children.

I was married in a church as my wife and her family insisted. Didn't stop her from cheating, blowing our savings on drugs and booze and leaving me 3 years later. Me, an atheist wanted to get help for her and marriage counselling. But she didn't want to bother. For me a marriage means through the good and bad times like I swore to. This is one of my values, it doesn't have to be a religious one.

I feel the same as " Giggs" on this. It's up to you and your spouse to maintain some level of faith.
