Now all of the educated people know the strategies used by election parties. We are aware that ruling parties, just before election, does all kind of pleasing stuffs so that majority vote goes in their favor. And apart from that the opposing party do their role well best. But uneducated people and one living below the poverty even the middle class, choose to vote those who offer them last minute free home-to-home gifts. And these are the once who form the major part in the turnout rates after election.
At last, the winning party should fulfill our requirements and setup a strong and dedicated government. Even if we vote the most eligible one it will make hardly any difference. In my opinion, shouldn't there be a proper guidance for the above mentioned people. And choose a new medium of awareness which will help them to choose the right government along with us?

After being an active participant in the system for more than 30 years I have concluded that no politician really deserves my vote. There are some who are less deserving than others but none to vote for.

The reason for that position is the conclusion that power does not corrupt, it attracts the corrupt. Thus, any person seeking high political office should be assumed corrupt and stand convicted unless they can prove otherwise. In the last 50 years there hasn't been one able to prove otherwise for obvious reasons. I am strongly opposed to having criminals ruling this country, which is what we have had for at least the last 50 years.

Once we conclude that we cannot trust a politician to manage this country, which is both the obvious and correct assumption, then we need to figure out how to pick leaders for our country. Perhaps a lottery of eligible citizens who can later be investigated for character and such? I doubt that an honest and well meaning person can do any worse a job than those we have had as presidents, senators and congressmen in the past. We can then do away with PACs and special interest groups, elections and all the expensive hype that goes with it.

We would, of course, have to enforce stringent rules of behavior while in office, but the specter of a life behind bars for misbehavior should help keep all politicians on the straight and narrow. It would be especially effective after 20-30 had been convicted and sent to 25 years of hard labor for screwing the public.
