mmmm.... i am very reminiscent/nostalgic of my primary school years (til 11 years old). what comes after this is still pretty exciting but it is tinted by a lot of insecurities and self esteem problem ( ie.acne...)& SEX GETS ON everyone's MIND, boys don't look at you and it fuccks you up. Indeed. all this mental torture never happened before adolescence when all we cared about was to run around, skip ropes, and Xmas was still a reality.or maybe steal a little kiss on the cheek...

everyday,my job in a primary school makes me realise how innocent and enthusiastic we were once and how it has all changed.
still, sex is a great thing though!!ahah

I had a rotten childhood...came from divorced parents, mother always had to work, & us kids were always "placed" with someone else...I couldnt wait for it to end...when I was 16 I went to an Army Recruting Center...to try to escape my childhood nightmares...they told me to come back when I was 18...& when I did I was all set to go, with the exception of one thing...they couldnt take me because I have a pre-existing condition...which I thought was discrimination...I was horrified! So I went on to the real world of working night shifts in some of the worst parts of my neighborhood...after that I went to a community college & worked until I realized the people I was living with were weird! I did my share of drugs-but luckliey never got caught...I kinda moved back in with my ma for awhile & then moved out again...it was all hitting me at the same time...this is it I am out of HS & working...this is what grown-ups do! I had my shares of ups & downs in life...& to tell you the truth, I wish things could have been better...but thats over now...the past is done with...I eventually got my degree in College & met a wonderful man...deep down in my heart I'll always be 16 ( those were some of the best days of my life)....besides, your only as old as you feel...so for me my childhood, as bad as it was will never end....

My childhood was marred by too many adult situations. I am now beginning to enjoy my life like I should have as a child. It hasn't ended, but just started.

The thing that made me realise that I was going to grow up (to a certain extent) whether I liked it or not was my first period, but that doesn't technically answer your question.

As a more direct answer, I hope my childhood will never end...Peter Pan Generation and all that!!!

I reckon it must be when you have children yourself... It's hard to be childlike with so much responsibility.. no kids then I think its about your outlook on life I've known some very young thinking 50+ year olds and some very old 15 year olds.. It's an individual thing and not fixed and depends on so many outside influences.. R children ever children these days after the age of about 7?

childhood is a state of mind for most of the people and being like that it can not be defined by age or paycheck... I'm 23, working, paying for my education and still don't feel like my childhood has ended... don't think it will end any time soon... but then again, that's just me... ;)

When I was 27, a child came up to me on the street and addressed me as "SIR"
I was devestated, and am to this day.
That was an eye-opener and a big turning point in my life.
