If I spill salt I throw some over my left shoulder.
If my hockey team is in the play offs (the Detroit Red Wings) I have to wear red underwear on game day and can NOT wear the color of the other teams jersey's for the duration of the series. I still blame myself for the Wings losing years ago when they played the Toronto Maple Leafs and I wore some blue skivvies.

I cover all mirrors in the house where a death has occurred. According to family superstitions, the spirit can come back through the mirror, and take your soul. I know this cannot be true, but I take no chances. Besides, I do it out of respect to old family traditions.

Is karma a superstition? I believe in karma. The rest are fun. Like a new broom, spilled salt, bee in the house, etc.

I will never ever sleep with my head toward the door. I must have my bed facing the door so that my feet are closest to the door. I don't know why, just can't sleep facing away from the door.
