I was a manager of a bar many years ago.
We had a coffee machine for Espresso's etc, at end of shift the machine had to be closed down and cleaned - part of the process involved releasing the steam.
Hence our fools errand - which was an instruction to catch the steam in a bucket and particularly gullible new starters would get a bollocking for not using a lid to stop the steam escaping the bucket.
I also had new starters watering the false plants.
Evil I know - but FUN!!

A true story
One of the fitters sent a lad to the garage with a gallon can and told him to get some compressed air.
The lad came back, and offered the can. The fitter shook it and shaking the can said "it's empty"
To which the lad said "I told that fool at the garage it was comming out as fast as it was going in"
The lad had his revenge though
he was send to the shop for a certain brand of cigarettes.
The lad asked "and if they havn't got them?"
To which the fitter said "get anything"
The lad came back an told the fitter "they hadn't got your cigs, So I got you a meat pie and a bottle of milk"

While you are waiting check whether they have a glass hammer, elbow grease, left handed screwdriver and elastic tape measure and when the engineers send you next time you can tell them whether the stores keep them in stock lol.

Just ask them to get you some glass nails when you get back unbeknown to them you can get nails that have glass baubles threaded onto them they are for nailing to a centre of a glass flower and produced in venice as I have bought them when I was there
