How do you rate your national team and your top league ?? i think the media seriously over hypes both and your top players ! players like Gerrard ,Rooney , Terry are very good players but sky hypes them up no end to be world class as they hype up the premiership also ! The Prem is fast and furious and this creates excitement but technically is very poor and players like the ones mentioned above produce great moments in this chaos and are classed world beaters , the prem produces 3 /4 good games a year at most ! I dont think many english players would be good enough to play on the continent ?? fans are then left scratching their heads when england lose to croatia ,spain or perform poorly in major events !! is the media hijacking your game ???

Just curios on how you the english fans feel ,i watch Spanish German and Italian also ,the reason i think the prem is the most watched is money and it's ability to market their game , and it's for this same reason why there are 4 english teams still in europe ,money !!there is a huge gulf between these 4 and the rest in the prem.

The English national team is average & that's it.
The English Premiership is the best in the world. Hence, why it has every chance of having four teams in the 1/4 finals of the champions league.

England can never win the world cup, because you only have to touch a player from abroad and they go down.
Get within 5 yards and they dive
They cheat and they are big babies.
We can't play our natural game which is fast, exciting and physical, just like when we invented it.
Pick your best European team. Are Gerrard, Terry and Rooney in it? Exactly you've answered your own question.
You say that the Premiership creates excitement! Exactly, that's why I go to see it! what do you go for? I bet that you cannot find a professional footballer playing today, who would not say, that the premiership is the best league in the world. That's why all the best foreigners come here.
You say that the premiership players are technically poor - Henry, Fabrigas, Rooney, Ballack, Schevenko Ferdinand, etc etc. Are you sure mate?
Investors are not stupid! They put their money in the best place i.e. the premiership.
I think that most teams on the continent would want the players in the England squad.

Its probably fair to say that the Prem is generally less highly skilled than the Spanish league, but it is certainly the most exciting league in Europe for fans to watch. There is simply not much fun in watching a clever, thirty-six man passing manouever which ends up with a throw-in in their own half. Ultimately, fans want exciting, not "pretty" football...a goal is a goal no matter how it is scored.
Of course Sky over-hypes the Prem...they pay a fortune for the rights to show it and its the main thing that attracts people to subscribe to Sky. So its a big money earner for Sky.
Also..ok so maybe there are only 4 top quality teams in the Prem...but thats still a few more than the 2 in Spain or the 1 in Italy at the moment!

I'm not English, but the national team is poor at best. I think the hype they get is poorer yet.
The EPL is not, repeat not, the best league. The buy some decent players, but the chasm between the top and bottom is huge. Any Spanish or Italian team would look amazing playing in the EPL. I've said it before and will say it again, if you want to be bored watch the EPL. If you wasnt to see skill and true tactics watch Serie A or La Liga.
And before the EPL nuts go off, where were all the tactics developed that are used today? That's right, the Eredivisie, Serie A and La Liga... and don't ever forget it.
Hey remember when the English sang the praises of that Swedish guy that managed the national team? The one that couldn't even win a scudetto with Lazio in Serie A? LOL

The Premiership is far and away the best league to watch - you get more excitement in 45 minutes of Premiership football than you do from half season of Serie A!
Gerrard, Rooney, Terry, Ferdinand are all top players & would walk into any other national team - not to mention J Cole, A Cole & Hargreaves & could easily adapt to play in any other league.
You are right that generally english players aren't quite as good technically - but I dont agree that this is what is stopping us from winning major tournaments. That is more down to the manager at the time & we never seem to get that crucial bit of luck @ recent major tournaments

National team is poorly managed and picked by the press in the main, or by the players. Rooney is over-rated but Gerrard and Terry are superb _ I don't support Pool or Chelsea. Prem is the best league in the world and that's why it's the most watched in the world - by miles. The media has hijacked you I think - don't believe everything you read

The domestic game is the most exciting in the world; it may not be the most skillful but its the league where the action is. As for the national team, we have a squad of high quality individuals but are crippled by an inability to appoint a management structure which can produce a great team.
The only England manager to win the World Cup (Sir Alf Ramsey) once said "its not my job to pick the best players, its my job to pick the best team". That is a big part of the problem, along with too many foreign players in the league.

I don't rate England that well actually. They're inconsistent and I never believed that they would win the world cup last year. The Premiership is also not the best league in the world and angered me when Dirk Kuyt who's a dutchman said that it was on match of the day. But nor is Italian, Spanish or German football like it used to be. I now believe that probably because of the lack of success in these countries, English foot ball IS now the best, or French football is, even though France are s**t.

i totally agree about the over hype of some players. I dont get why people choose to support a team they cant associate with over a local side? I'm from a Bristol and i'm a huge Bristol City fan, more people should support there local teams, then they'd get to see and feel what the real passion for football really is xx

the English premiership is the best in the world. overall we have the best players by far. we have the richest league in the world. greatest stadiums in the world. best cup competition in the world. best managers in the world. and the football ain't have bad. meaning greatest in the world.
now the English national team is totally different. we don't have a manager who has the balls to drop the so called stars like Gerrard or carrick. play a 4-4-2 and it will work. stop bloody messing around with the formations. that's the problem. maclaren fiddles around to make. against Spain we were all over the place. we didn't do the one thing. passing. everybody was trying to impress and we didn't play as a team. yes its the players fault. their paid up to £100,000 to kick a ball. but its the whole England set up. just basic things. they need to look at themselves. we should have got Phil scalari as manager, his record speaks for itself. i was watching a BBC interview with him. he understands football. hes like mourinho in knowing how to play, who to play, against who and so on. but the fa mucked it up by making him an offer before the world cup like idiots.
im not going to go on anymore as this is long enough. hope it helps.
