When I talk about the old days of wrestling I get dozens of kids saying: "yeah, I miss stone cold and the rock and the whole attitude era." I think I seriously just get depressed when I see that people think that those are the wrestlers I am talking about. I honestly believe that conversations of Harley race, hogan, rick rude, jake the snake, sheik, bob backlund, bret, and all these other greats are gone. Its like the only time anyone says anything about them is on wwe.com "Where Are They Now." I feel like this is the time where I stop going on this board. There are no more intellectual questions, its all just "whos hotter" "who would win out of these guys" "what about this match" "I miss old school ( mid 90's)" and all the chatting.

dude, i hear you loud and clear, however that's the nature of the beast. it happens everywhere, not just in wrestling. the "old days" are just that, the old days. and as we get older, there are new generations of kids coming in and enjoying whatever it is we enjoyed.
look at hockey. the talk nowadays is of sidney crosby and alexander ovechkin. ask a young kid about bobby orr, gordie howe, wayne gretzky, mario lemieux...they've heard of them, but have no idea about them because they didn't live them.
look at movies. kids nowadays hear martin scorcese, and they think "the departed". they don't know anything about "taxi driver", "mean streets", "raging bull", etc.
look at it in a positive sense. instead of wrestling dying out with us old guys, it carries on, loved by a new generation of kids. and we, as old guys, have our stories of the "good ol' days" that can live on because wrestling is still alive.
you wanna talk harley race, hulk hogan, rick rude, jake the snake, iron shiek, mike rotundo, ricky steamboat, big john studd, bob backlund...send me an e-mail anytime.
btw, you're still a young guy yourself if you call the mid-90's "old school". i've been watching wrestling since the mid-80's.

My opinion, wrestling peaked during the attitude era, like it or not, you may miss race, sheik and backlund, but Stone Cold, the Rock, and the NWO transformed wrestling into the sports entertainment business it is now. Hogan and company couldn't have kept it afloat

You mean when they actually had a legitimate tag team division, and they didn't stick random superstars together to form a tag team and win the belts? When people had good mic skills? When there were managers that actually meant someting other than to be a piece of eye candy for a match you couldn't get a sack of batting practice balls for? When pay per views were advertised to be three hours, and they actually lasted three hours? When there was compeition between companies, so you had to try to put out your best product every week to win the head to head battles? When storylines were believable?

I feel that way to. It's just not the same anymore. I was missing Sting like crazy 'till he came to TNA. I miss WCW. But there are a few of the current guy that are fun to watch like Jeff Hardy. I could watch him forever I think. My fave. older wrestler is The Bullet Bob Armstrong. I love his theme song when I was little.

Well some fans dont really know about that era. We need to depend on older people who tell us, or else go searching for what you are trying to say.

I agree as this happens in all sports ... "hbk jr" (HAH! THATS WHAT WE NEED!) said that "the future is now". Oh really? Next time you say "so and so sucks", just remember your pretty much saying that the future ... sucks
