someone will post the most silly of questions, say about a celebrity, and get a gazillion answers, while another will ask a profound question and get only 2 or 3?

Is it because profound questions require introspection?

Good question. I believe that many people follow and are interested in celebrities because it's easy. In effect, brain candy.

The same people that get their news and view of the world from TV news. Again, brain candy.

I call it lazy. How anyone can state an opinion, or debate a point, based on the limited and biased (and I'm talking right or left) information they absorb is disappointing at best and disgusting in fact.

But remember Polls and Surveys is the play ground here. I only wish there were more thoughtful and introspective questions and answers in the other categories.

I've run a cross a few members that do think. So that is refreshing. You just have to hunt for them.

Sorry this answer wasn't funny either :)

I noticed this but it is because everyone has
an opinon about these silly questions.
Because they are so silly. But when someone
has a profound question most people do not
have the education or skills to reply to these
kind of questions without replying silly.

It's because society, in general, is populated with shallow, degenerate ********* who can't see past the end of their shitty rhinoplasty job. People are slime (present company excluded).
