Go to the Embassy of Spain in your country and they will give you all the information you need, including the visa issue.

Stay put. You don't need a friend in Spain to know its historical importance. Remember Tariq bin Ziad, Hispaania and Masjid-e-Qartaba?
If you are a serious tourist, then contact Spain's embassy and try to tag along a tourist party. It will be cheaper, safer and much more informative and enjoyable.
