If you spend enough time on this site, you will notice that the actual intelligent questions generally get written off as homework assignments and barely answered.
The users here enjoy the low-brow mud-slinging, and I think use this site to vent the frustrations of their dreary lives. Very little actual political theory is discussed.
I do not think common ground is possible, nor necessary. The US has always tolerated opposing views. Since the beginning.
I will add that the moderate candidates, on either side of the aisle, will get chewed up and spit out by BOTH sides.

Insults comes when there is a lack of evidence to debate a issue so the next step if you have no evidence is to attack someone before they present the evidence. This is one of the cores of conservatism.
We will have a two party system until we stop corporations from being involved in politics, they are not human and should have say over the humans. We need to have public funded elections only then maybe the little people will have more pull once the money is out of the way.

Give yourself a gold star!!!! I think people in this forum like to get rid of stress from other sorces, like their jobs, so they really kill when someone disagrees with their point of view. Call me, living in a dream world, but I think most people are more tolerant of others than what is portrayed in this forum. I look at the candidates (and sigh) and then pray that God help me vote for who is best to fill the position. I have never voted just one way or another. On each election, I mix it up so we have both sides represented. It keeps things on an even kilt. A little diversity is a good thing. It makes people think when they have to try to convince someone else their idea is a good one. Thanks for the question!

It'll never happen...
Republicans or democrats aren't looking for a common ground. It's either my way or the highway with both parties.

It's SOOO much fun picking on those who say MY beliefs are wrong, I don't care what others believe, but when somebody tells me I can't believe what I WANT like an expresslane to the chair, or I SHOULD be able to have as many guns as I want, since I know the TRUE meaning of gun cntrol is hitting what you aim at. Well then the gloves are off.

Am I stunning in thinking it fairly is 8.9 divided by skill of seven.a million and subtract a million.5 divided by skill of 9? it fairly is plenty greater handy in case you multiply each and each variety as much as get rid of the decimal factors. So 8.9/7.a million is precisely the comparable as 89/seventy one and additionally a million.5/9 is the comparable as 15/ninety so which you have 89/seventy one - 15/ninety To subtract (or upload) fractions you need an undemanding denominator. seventy one x ninety = 6390 so use that because of the fact the denominator. 89/seventy one is the comparable as 8010/6390 and 15/ninety is the comparable as 1065/6390 so which you have 8010/6390 - 1065/6390 = 6945/6390 = a million 555/6390 = a million 111/1278

There are no democrats or republicans anymore. They are all radicals. And it is not just the politicians. It is everybody. And when you are radical about something you cannot see any middle ground. Everything is not balck or white, yes or no. Until we are willing to investigate the gray area we will stay the same. And I agree with you. It is a shame.

But America ISNT 50/50
Dems own the senate, hosue, state senate, governors, 71% of Americans are against outlawing abortion, 69% are antiwar, 65% anti-surge.
Cons want you to believe they are more popular than they are!

It can not be solved, because people are different and base their judgments on their different life experiences. It is just part of life.
